I Bought my Prelude Senior year 2006. I started off with a 1993 prelude H23 With a Auto transmission. within the first year of owning it i dropped out the h23 for a jdm h22a with automatic transmission. About a month into that the Auto trans started slipping. So out with the Auto and in with the standard. Swapped in a H23 5 Speed transmission. After that i had a pretty good run with the car it was more of a weekend cruiser. Then one day i let my brother borrow the car, it was returned to me with a warped crank and destroyed key way. ouch
Then I ran into financial issues and was forced to sell my evo, making me need to fix my prelude for a daily driver. So I ordered my second H22 from Hmotors online. I decided to paint my engine bay and try my hardest to get the car in the best shape i could on my budget. Dropped the new h22 in and painted the bay, replaced pretty much everything but the abs. things were looking good.
Had the car on the road only 6 months as my daily driver then i broke 16 teeth off the timing belt bending 6 valves. At this point i was up in the air about it almost sold this car several times, ending up buying a mustang a car i always hated on more then anyone but it seems a lot more car to handle my driving. So far it has been very good to me. The prelude sat in my yard for 7 months and it was to hard to bare watching start potential just rusting away again!
So I came to my senses and realized i have way to much heart and time invested in this car and fixed it again. had the head machined did the timing belt, water pump, tensioner and valves.
Since then i have been hitting the streets hard in the prelude representing for lude owners everywhere. I may not have the best looking lude, but i am a die hard luder at heart and will continue to hold it down
Here is a photo timeline of the car before i break it down for my second h22 swap into the car.
personally i don't think it was that rice other then my redonkulas gauges and invader hood, i still kept it clean and my body lines were smooth. my bumper looks good i think, and is made of high quality poly, it is not a kit. Wings West Big mouth anyone who has been in the game knows its quality even if its not there taste.-___- lol
getting some paint and body work
right after i got it painted at Blinns AutoBody in Plaistow
trip to kinetic for the white lude aboves dyno run
shoguns in primer before i painted them, kinda liked the color
Now this is where my Second Swap starts, after i sold my evo i started working on the prelude for a couple months straight. car was neglected for awhile and was sitting at my brothers..
new H22 shows up
only 4th gen i have seen with 2 engine mount holes, it was a big pain to deal with when putting in the mounts.
