Schedule for 2012 Season at New England Dragway

    Post  MoeskiVR4 on Tue Jan 31, 2012 1:32 pm

I know a lot of people that race and don't race their cars, but i thought it would be a good idea to post this up considering a lot of people are looking forward to the track re-opening this year, weather it be to race their cars or just spectate at the events... I'd like to see a lot of you up there this year, and not on the street.. $20 saves yourself a fat ticket, you license and maybe even your life, and at the track you can have great match ups with people you've been wanting to race weather it be a friendly race, money race, or just an all out grudge match, there's no excuses at the track, and everything is legit. so lets GET IT IN safe this year huh ladies and gents! Very Happy

Honestly I was surprised by the number of people (younger guys) that don't know the track exists up in NH or just flat out just never been to one. I'll tell you the truth, I didn't know it was there either (my roots was always in the streets), until I joined up with a local automobile club that a few years back... It's allot of fun though, it's a indescribable experience, when your getting lined up with the light and actually start to make the passes down the track, you'll realize what I'm talking about as soon as you start to do so for yourself....Moe is right, at $20 you don't have to worried about any hassles, police,pedestrians,....it more than makes up for it self. If your interested in going down you should definitely link up with someone or some group and head down you won't regret it at all. You may even meet some new people out of it or learn something that will improve your driving in the future. Female racers I would like to see allot more of you hit the track as well for 2012, Overall it's a slow process to get adapted to the track you will get better with time, I am not going to lie, I had to go down 2 times and watch before before I even felt comfortable track racing. Honestly I think peoples attitudes about the track are a little turned off by it just because of all the stories that are spread (breaking of parts , blown engines ect..) The false stories are usually spread by those who don't respect the limitations of their vehicle, for example if you know your axles only can handle 200hp and you crank your boost controller up to 30 pounds for 400hp your asking for trouble first hand, that's the origin of these negative rumors. These break downs can be avoided with a little common sense on the racers end. ..all bu$hit aside it a fun experience and once you do it a couple times you'll be hooked.

In the end we can't really blame them for low turn outs now can we?

O Yes we can Mike, they are absolutely the blame for the low turnouts, the Management team & promotional staff need to be replaced with a team that does not consist of members from a retirement home point blank and simple as that. Numbers in the stands can be sharply increased if the "TRACK" they would put some time in effort along with the host keep these events going. When ever I head out to one of these major events down in Epping I always feel as if the track was just the rented out for that day it never has the "at home" feel to it..... None of the staff looks like want to be there half the time and 80% of them are rude. Replace the staff, hire some people with a voice in the happenings and you'll see a big change in the way things are done. Problem solved. They need a outlook of many angles not just their own.
